Today, Katie, Lisa and Amber rode the Metro-North to New York City to attend the Phase Separation in Biology and Disease meeting at the New York Academy of Sciences. This one day symposium encompassed a wide range of research geared towards understanding this cellular phenomenon in both subcellular organization and disease phenotypes.
Katie and Lisa presented posters on their work on the genome-wide image-based screen that identified proteins that when depleted change the average number of nucleoli (the large phase-separated nuclear organelles) in a human cell.
