The goal of Lisa’s research is to identify previously unknown regulators of mammalian ribosome biogenesis. The foundation of her research is a genome-wide screen that identified ~200 putative ribosome biogenesis factors. Hits range from expected factors such as ribosomal proteins, to proteins involved in embryonic development and neurodegenerative disease.

During the past 50 years she has been a graduate art student, artist, art dealer, fine art program director and a research science administrator. Now, semi-retired, she devotes more time and energy to her painting.
