Welcome

Welcome to the Baserga lab!  We are dedicated to furthering our knowledge and understanding of how ribosomes are made in eukaryotic cells.  Our work is critical for probing the pathogenesis of the new diseases of making ribosomes, the “ribosomopathies,” as well as for connecting ribosome biogenesis to cancer.  Furthermore, we have recently uncovered strong evidence that links the nucleolus and ribosome synthesis to embryonic development, neurodegenerative diseases, chromatin structure, cytoskeletal integrity, DNA repair and diverse signalling pathways.

In addition to having the highest standards for scientific excellence and rigor, the Baserga lab equally values camaraderie, curiosity, and collaboration.  We will happily welcome like-minded undergraduates, post-bacs, graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and visiting faculty to join us
